For more than 20 years Ukrainian authors do not receive proper royalties for the use of their works of art.
The reason for this is the absence in Ukraine of an efficient copyright management mechanism, foremost a transparent system of collection and distribution of remuneration (royalties) to copyright holders for the use of their works.
On December 15, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Efficient Management of Property Rights of Owners in the Sphere of Copyright and/or Related Rights" to ensure the collection of income from the rights by collective management organizations" No. 5572.
