Anton Koval: on the current state of affairs in the field of trademark protection in Ukraine

On December 11, 2020, the Higher School of Advocacy of the National Bar Association of Ukraine will host the event "Intellectual Property 2020: Reboot".

Anton Koval, partner of Doubinsky & Osharova, will speak at the event .

Prior to the event, Anton gave an interview to Nikolai Pototski, Chairman of the National Bar Association Intellectual Property Committee. The conversation focused on key issues of the intellectual property protection:

  • types of infringements of intellectual property rights and how they change over time;
  • the need to improve the current legislation. What methods to combat IP infringements can we borrow from abroad;
  • is there a need to establish a mechanism for calculating losses at the legislative level;
  • the most common types of trademark infringement;

  • what are the benefits for business from the the well-known trademark status. What are the main advantages of the court procedure for recognizing a well-known trademark.
