III Legal Forum EU-Eastern Partnership

Yana Yaroshevska, attorney at law at Doubinsky & Osharova, took part in the III Legal Forum EU-Eastern Partnership, held on May 23-24 in Warsaw.

Yana was a speaker at the 3rd panel of the forum, which was devoted to global trends in protecting innovations and commercialising intellectual property rights.

The panel discussion focused on the following global and national trends in intellectual property protection, namely:

✅ national experience of the interconnection of artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies with intellectual property;

✅ the impact of artificial intelligence and its use in software development and challenges related to intellectual property rights in the General Public License;

✅ trends in trademark protection and commercialization in the era of cross-border business and partnership. Increasing the value of well-known trademarks;

✅ interaction of IP state bodies and IP owners, the role of such interaction for harmonization, improvement of protection and commercialization of intellectual property - national perspective of Ukraine and Ireland.

In conclusion, Yana shared the following insight: We can keep calm - AI will not replace the lawyer especially, with the enhanced value of intangible assets and human capital. However, the rapid development of technologies and AI will drastically change the professional environment and approaches to providing legal services in future. The only way not to be left out - is to master new technologies and legal tech now.
