Last year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted significant changes to the patent legislation. Changes have affected mainly the Laws of Ukraine "On Protection of Rights to Inventions and Utility Models", "On Medicines", "On Protection of Rights to Marks for Goods and Services”, "On Protection of Rights to Industrial Designs". Legislatively there were established new requirements for the legal protection of inventions and utility models aimed at fighting against patent trolls, new mechanisms were introduced, and so on.
