Michael Doubinsky took part in the online meeting on the integration of Ukrainian judicial practice in the field of intellectual property, training and exchange of experience of specialists, and special training programs for judges

On July 26, Michael Doubinsky, managing partner of Doubinsky & Osharova, took part in the online meeting of representatives of the WIPO Judicial Institute, IP Office and the Commercial Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court on the integration of Ukrainian judicial practice in the field of intellectual property, training and exchange of experience of specialists, and special training programs for judges.

The event was devoted to the resumption and deepening of cooperation, which was interrupted due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine.

In addition, the following topics were discussed during the meeting:

  • ways to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Court and WIPO;
  • training of candidates and launch of the High IP Court in Ukraine, possible tools for its support by WIPO;
  • supporting WIPO in providing professional development and training for judges in the field of IP, access to existing WIPO programs (including distance learning courses), and possible development of specialized programs for Ukraine;
  • participation of Ukrainian judges in WIPO training and educational events;
  • the Supreme Court's use of the WIPO Lex legal framework;
  • specialized training programs for judges;
  • participation in professional webinars for judges, where they discuss theory, practice, and their vision of recent precedents.
