Doubinsky & Osharova successfully represented and ensured the interests of a Ukrainian pharmaceutical company in obtaining a Unitary Patent, which provides protection across multiple European countries.
The Unitary Patent is an innovative patent protection system that came into force on June 1, 2023. It allows applicants to secure uniform patent protection simultaneously across all EU member states that have joined the agreement (currently 18 countries), without the need to undergo a complex and costly validation procedure in each country separately.
This approach significantly streamlines and reduces the cost of obtaining and maintaining European patent protection.
The project was handled by Senior Associate Kateryna Vaisberh, together with the patent department team under the leadership of Senior Partner Tatyana Shpakovich.
