Anton Koval participated in the conference “Protection of Intellectual Property, Technology and Knowledge Transfer in Research Organizations and Higher Education Institutions”

On June 5, Anton Koval, Partner at Doubinsky & Osharova participated in the scientific and practical conference “Protection of Intellectual Property, Technology and Knowledge Transfer in Research Organizations and Higher Education Institutions”, organized by the Research Institute of Intellectual Property of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine together with the Center for Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

As part of the conference, Anton delivered a presentation on “Challenges in the Legal Protection of Well-Known Trademarks and the Need for Improvement of Ukrainian Legislation”.

During his presentation, Anton examined recent developments in the approaches to recognising trademarks as well-known, highlighted practical challenges arising from the application of these evolving standards, and addressed gaps in the current legal framework.

Particular attention was paid to potential legislative improvements to strengthen the protection of well-known trademarks, enhance legal certainty, and ensure a more effective enforcement framework for trademark owners.
